Just nine weeks to go before the start of a new season and United remain, it appears, in limbo. No team? No Manager? No Budget? No friendlies arranged. No forthcoming news regarding who the owner is? Kim and Jed need to be working more closely together, that is, if they are the two people pulling the strings at United. Any budget must be good enough to maintain United at this level. A good budget means good players and bums on seats. I realise that in order for a decent budget to be agreed, someone of some company or business will need to put their hands in their pockets. I cannot see anyone doing this until the ownership situation is sorted and until all supporters are told Who owns the Club? and what the future plan is. What competitions are we entering this season in addition to the League.
I am very much aware that obtaining sponsorship for a club that has, dare I say it, little respect in and around Banburyshire and Oxfordshire, is almost an impossibility. Of the five top businesses that I have written to asking for Sponsorship Help, only one has had the decency to reply and that was Encase Ltd(now known under a different name). Even they were unable to help.
Given that a good Sponsor reads this and is forthcoming at the eleventh hour it is still possible that both the club and its Sponsors could have a good future.
A good run in The FA Cup would bring much needed revenues to the club and coverage on SKY TV and Possibly BT. Your Sponsorship would mean exposure for your product logo etc!
SKY News features both the results in The Southern League Premier and the League Table each season on a regular basis. There are some well known teams in the league again this season. These may include the unfortunate Hereford United who should be down at The Spencer Stadium next season if they survive. When you drive or travel into Banbury, especially at night you must see how large the Town and its catchment area has become. Banbury is worthy of, and needs a football club to be proud of. It is a sport that is not going away - The biggest Sport in the world. Banbury United should and would be that club if Businesses and Companies stepped in to help. "We the Supporters need your help Now!"
