So here we are at the end of another season. At least we kept our Southern Premier League Status and retained The Buckingham Cup. But it is the off the field matters which now concern the genuine supporters of Banbury United. And it is time that Board Members like Kim Richard and Barry etc just stopped being so fussy and read and respond to what is on this and the Banbury United Unofficial Forum. Be brave enough to set up your own official forum?
Of course we as supporters want answers we have done all season. And if Businesses are to sponsor the club, the issue regarding its running and ownership should at least be public knowledge.
1. Who owns the Club?
2. Who is running the Club?
We have not had an AGM for over two years and it must be realised by the club that not everyone has a PC and I understand that not everyone is able to look at The Forums.
In thanking David Shadbolt, Andy, Lee and all those that have served the club so well, this time on my own behalf and if you don`t mind, on behalf of supporters, could I call on David to consider a regular close season News Letter to be sent to Businesses etc. This may of course be too expensive to instigate.
Sponsorship: Re Sponsorship I have tested the water by writing to five of the largest Companies in Banbury. I await response from those Companies with fingers crossed. But at least I expected a response from The Board, even if only to complain.
I am aware that Kim has put money into the club and that Jed may still be willing to come back. Will Edwin go or will he stay???
There are so many questions but while those that run the club dilly-dally for want of a better word, are we not sinking further into the Mire.
Forgive me for sounding like a Director myself at times but as The Four Shires Magazine reported in this month`s issue "I am an Ardent Fan."
No more messing around it is time to get real - An AGM a player retained list and a player budget that will last the whole season and see us through the early FA Cup and FA Trophy rounds securing some much needed payments to the club.
If neccessary take one or two better quality players on board on a short term basis to end our terrible cup record and see us through the first two or three rounds.
The most important part of any League or Non League Football Club is Not The Board, Not the Manager, Not The Owners But THE SUPPORTERS. So start COMMUNICATING WITH US.
Watch this Space, OH Yes and do Post.
